How to watch Croatia v Denmark online for free

The Croatia v Denmark match will see Group D winners will take on the Group C runner ups on July 1st in Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, Nizhny Novgorod at 7 PM BST (11 AM PST/ 2 PM EST). In this post, we’ll explain how to live stream Croatia v Denmark so you can watch this and any other World Cup match online for free.

Thankfully, a ton of broadcasters all over the world have rights to show matches in various languages, with many streaming them live online for free. Although a lot of these live streams will be geo-restricted, you can simply use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to spoof your location. This will enable you to watch games, including Croatia v Denmark, from the UK, the US, Germany, Canada, Australia, France, and anywhere else in the world.

Where to live stream the FIFA World Cup 2018 for free

In many countries all over the world, local broadcasters will have rights to show all or some of the FIFA World Cup 2018 matches. The commentary language will vary depending on the source region. If it’s English commentary you’re looking for, you have a number of options for free streams, some of which are listed here:

  1. UK: BBC, ITV (both free)
  2. US: Fox Sports (free with a cable or over-the-top provider subscription)
  3. Australia: SBS’ The World Game website (free)
  4. Canada: TSN, CTV (both free with a cable subscription)

The US and Canada streams are really only free if you live in one of those countries and have a cable subscription. The UK has free streams, but technically you should live in the UK and have a UK TV license to watch them. This leaves SBS in Australia as the best option for a free English-commentary live stream.

SBS is streaming games online through The World Game website, and has been adding matches to its roster. In fact, it’s now showing all remaining World Cup fixtures, including the Croatia v Denmark game. The World Game website’s live streams are geo-restricted and only accessible to those with an Australian IP address. Thankfully, anyone in the world can get an Australian IP address through the use of a VPN (more on that below).

If you’re looking for commentary in Croatian or Danish, here are your options:

  • Croatia: HRT (Croatian commentary)
  • Denmark: DR, TV 2 (both have Danish commentary)

We’ll go into these in more detail below, but if you want to find out about streams in other countries, you can take a look at the official list of World Cup broadcasters. Whichever stream you select, you won’t have to worry about geo-restrictions if you employ the use of a VPN.

The best VPN for the World Cup 2018: ExpressVPN

expressvpn world cup

ExpressVPN is an ideal option for streaming with its fast speeds, extensive server network, and ability to unblock geo-restricted content. Plus, it makes user security and privacy top priorities. It uses strong encryption and logs no personally identifiable information.

This service is super simple to set up and has apps available for all major operating systems. All you have to do is choose a plan (one month, six months, or twelve months), submit your payment, and download the software.

If you have any issues, live chat customer support is always on hand to help you out. ExpressVPN offers a 30-day no-quibbles money-back guarantee, so if you’re not completely happy, you can get your payment refunded. This means you could actually use the service to watch the entire World Cup tournament and simply get your money back at the end.

SPECIAL DEAL: Opt for a one-year ExpressVPN plan and get three months free.

While ExpressVPN is an excellent provider, it’s definitely not your only option. Other great low-cost, high-performance services include those offered by NordVPN and CyberGhost.

How to watch Croatia v Denmark online, live with a VPN

After deciding which provider to go with, setting up with your chosen live stream is pretty straightforward. Here are the basic steps:

  1. Get signed up with your selected VPN provider and note your credentials.
  2. Download and install the relevant app for your device.
  3. Launch the app and enter your credentials.
  4. Choose a server in the appropriate region for your streaming source and connect.
  5. Navigate to the live stream through the source website or app.
  6. Watch and enjoy the action!

It’s always a good idea to test the live stream well before the game starts. This way, you’ll have a chance to fix any issues that might arise.

How to watch Croatia v Denmark with Croatian or Danish commentary

In Croatia, HRT has rights to broadcast the entire World Cup 2018 tournament. You can watch for free on TV or online and enjoy full coverage with Croatian commentary. If you’re outside of Croatia at the time of the game, simply use a VPN and connect to a Croatian server. Unfortunately, due to the rising cost of obtaining rights, this is the last time this free channel will be able to air coverage of the Croatian national team, so enjoy it while you can.

In Denmark, DR and TV 2 are sharing rights to the World Cup matches. DR is free while TV 2 requires a paid subscription. Both will be providing Danish commentary.

Streaming the FIFA World Cup 2018 games with English commentary

We mentioned the English-commentary broadcasters earlier, but we’ll explain your options in more detail here.

UK World Cup streaming options

In the UK, the BBC and ITV are sharing rights to the World Cup matches. This means that every game will be shown on one channel only. The Croatia v Denmark game will be available on ITV1 or online via ITV Hub. Games that the BBC has rights to will be aired on BBC One or online through BBC iPlayer.

Both of these services are completely free, but you will need to sign up for an account. The signup process requires you to enter a UK postal code, although, with no payment information required, there’s no way for the postal code to be verified. Another stipulation is that you have a UK TV license. However, this is based on an honor system and is not actually checked.

This means, in order to access streams from either service, you can simply obtain a UK IP address by using a VPN.

ITV and BBC are both showing games with English commentary.

US World Cup streaming options

In the US, Fox Sports is the only broadcaster with rights to show the FIFA World Cup 2018 matches with English commentary. Technically, Fox Sports is free for anyone with a subscription to a cable service or over-the-top provider, such as Sling TV , fuboTV, or DirecTV.

For other users, it does offer a soccer match pass for $19.99, but a cheaper option would be to use a VPN to unblock a non-US free stream.

Canada World Cup streaming options

In Canada, both TSN and CTV are providing English commentary, but to access their live streams, you’ll need a cable subscription from a Canadian cable provider.

TSN does have the option of a monthly subscription, but this will set you back $24.99 (CAD) for a month, which is pretty steep at this late point in the tournament. If you’re in Canada and don’t have cable, a better option might be to simply use a VPN to access a free live stream originating outside of Canada.

Australia World Cup streaming options

We discussed The World Game website earlier, and this is certainly a great option for free live streams for all games.

If you’re in Australia, you can access it without a VPN. But from anywhere else in the world, simply follow the steps outlined above and enjoy free live stream of all remaining matches, including the Croatia v Denmark game.

Optus Sport also has rights to show matches in Australia, but this is a paid service.

Free live streams in other languages

We’ve covered English-language commentary in this post, as well as Croatian and Danish. If you’d like to find stream in other languages, here are some of your options:

  1. French: TF1
  2. Spanish: Mediaset España Telecinco, Mediaset España Cuatro
  3. German: ARD, ORF, SRG SSR, ZDF
  4. Portuguese: RTP, SIC
  5. Italian: Mediaset
  6. Arabic: MAKAN 33, KAN11, BTV
  7. Bengali: BTV
  8. Russian:  VGTRK, Perviy Kanal, Match TV

Just remember to check that your chosen provider has servers in the source region before you sign up.
