Mark Gill is a leading security and privacy writer published on TechRadar, IGN, and Tom’s Guide. Since joining the Comparitech team in 2018, Mark has become a trusted authority on VPNs. Through his comprehensive guides and reviews, he underscores the many benefits of VPNs, from safeguarding privacy to unblocking and streaming TV shows and sporting events.

A graduate of the University of Lincoln, Mark earned a BA (Hons) degree in English and Journalism before relocating to sunny Spain, where he spent several years teaching English as a foreign language. His passion for online security led him to earn the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate, further solidifying his expertise in the field.

When not testing VPNs and antivirus software for Comparitech, Mark enjoys playing retro video games, cheering on the Detroit Lions, and writing dark comedy screenplays.
