DAZN not working with VPN

Are you having problems watching DAZN with a VPN active? This streaming service detects and blocks most proxies and VPNs outright, but don’t worry! There are still a few providers that can stream DAZN from anywhere. If you’re hoping to unblock DAZN while on vacation abroad, at work, or on public networks, you’re in the right place. Keep reading to find out which VPNs are best for watching DAZN and how to fix any DAZN VPN errors that appear.

My testing showed that NordVPN is currently the best VPN for DAZN, followed closely by well-respected services like ExpressVPN and Surfshark. All of these providers delivered high speeds, a strong level of security, and the ability to access a wide range of region-locked streaming platforms.

Why isn’t my VPN working with DAZN?

DAZN, like most other streaming services, is geo-blocked and only available in certain countries. However, unlike most of its competitors, DAZN has extremely powerful VPN-detection tools which mean that most VPNs simply won’t work.

If you try to watch DAZN from an unsupported country or while using a VPN that has already been blocked, you will see the following location error message:

DAZN not available in this country.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of consumer-facing VPNs have now been successfully blocked by DAZN. This means that you may need to switch providers if you are receiving the error message above while connected to a VPN.

What are the most common DAZN error messages?

Need to identify a DAZN error message? DAZN serves various error messages, some of which are designed to warn you that a VPN has been detected. Connection problems, playback errors, and other issues can cause other DAZN error messages.

To help you out, I have included a list of DAZN error codes below.

  • DAZN isn’t available in this country: This DAZN proxy error is usually triggered when trying to access the service abroad, though it’s also shown if a VPN is detected or your IP address is on a block list.
  • Error Code 50‑006‑403: Your account’s home region doesn’t match the region you’re trying to access.
  • Error Code 50‑075‑403: DAZN has flagged a VPN or proxy in use during the sign‑up or payment process.
  • Error Code 10‑000‑0 (“No Key Found!”): VPN activity detected when logging in to your account.
  • Error Code 51‑132‑403: A VPN connection was detected during account registration.
  • Locked Content (padlock icon/message): You’re trying to view content that isn’t available in the library of your account’s registered country.
  • Error Codes 11‑003‑011 / 11‑003‑013: A device or playback connection issue has interrupted the stream.
  • Error Codes 11‑012‑012 / 11‑064‑011: A streaming session error, which can often be resolved by restarting the app or device.
  • Error Codes 50‑000‑034 / 50‑020‑200 / 50‑049‑401: Problems verifying your account or completing a payment process.
  • Error Codes 65‑003‑000 / 65‑003‑400 / 65‑804‑403: A generic app, device, or network error, often fixed by clearing the cache or updating the DAZN app.

What are common VPN problems with DAZN?

Unfortunately, there are lots of reasons why your VPN may not be working properly with DAZN. To help identify the cause of your specific problem, I’ve created a list of commonly-seen issues and a step-by-step guide to resolving them.

My advice will fix any of the following problems:

  • DAZN has already blocked your VPN.
  • You are getting a VPN or proxy error message while connected to the VPN.
  • You are experiencing a location error message while connected to the VPN.
  • You are failing to log in or are getting an incorrect password message on DAZN when connected to your VPN.
  • Certain shows or broadcasts are unavailable on DAZN when you use a VPN.
  • Your VPN is not accessing the DAZN region you asked for.
  • Your VPN is causing video buffering or poor quality.

How to make your VPN work with DAZN

No matter which of the problems above you are experiencing, you will be able to fix it by working through the steps below.

Remember that unless your VPN has been recommended for DAZN it is possible that it has already been blocked. If this is the case, you will need to subscribe to a VPN that has been tested recently and is known to work.

VPN is causing buffering when watching DAZN

If you are experiencing too much buffering and low-quality playback when streaming DAZN, the most likely cause is a sluggish internet connection. You may want to consider switching to a faster VPN, but there are also various things you could try that might alleviate the problem. For instance, you could:

  • Connect to a VPN server that is physically closer to your actual location. DAZN is available in over 200 countries, so it’s likely there’ll be one in a nearby country that’ll work while keeping your connection latency as low as possible.
  • Ask your VPN provider which server is optimized for streaming DAZN. (There’s a list of locations that each VPN for DAZN works with below.)
  • Try changing the VPN protocol in your VPN application. I recommend testing WireGuard, OpenVPN UDP, or IKEv2 to find the fastest option.
  • Enable your VPN’s stealth mode: Some VPNs have stealth modes designed to hide the telltale signs of VPN usage. It’s not guaranteed to help in this scenario but there’s no harm in trying.
  • Disable your VPN’s ad and tracker-blocking: Sometimes, a VPN’s ad-blocking feature interferes with the video player. Given DAZN has one of the strictest VPN-blocking systems around, anything that reduces the chance of detection is worth a shot.

VPN not working with DAZN

If your VPN is immediately detected and you can’t actually watch anything on DAZN, there are a few things you can do to potentially resolve the issue. Be aware, though, that if the steps below don’t work, you’ll almost certainly have to try a different VPN.

Here’s how to fix VPN not working with DAZN:

  1. Restart your device and try using DAZN again with the VPN active.
  2. Update the VPN app to make sure you’re using the latest version.
  3. Make sure that you’re VPN is actually turned on and that you’re using a server in a country where DAZN is available.
  4. Clear the cookies and cache in your browser.
  5. Try a few different servers in the same location, then try accessing DAZN from another browser.
  6. Check that DNS leak protection is enabled in the VPN application.
  7. Try using an alternate VPN protocol.
  8. Disable geo-location/location sharing in your browser and on your device.
  9. Finally, ask your VPN’s customer support team for assistance. At this stage, it’s likely the problem is on their end, which means you may have to consider other VPNs. I can confirm every service I recommend in this post works with DAZN.

Which VPNs still work with DAZN?

Unfortunately, the list of VPNs that work with DAZN has shrunk considerably in 2026. This means that you must stick to one of the providers listed below if you want to stream your account overseas.

Best VPNs to watch DAZN on vacation:

  1. NordVPN: My top VPN for watching DAZN. Provides very high speeds and a stellar security toolkit, plus it can access almost any streaming service. Works in places with strict censorship and has a 30-day money-back guarantee.

  2. Surfshark: Best budget pick for DAZN. Unblocks multiple DAZN libraries and delivers impressive speeds. Connect as many devices as you like. Great set of privacy features and a strict no-logs policy.
  3. ExpressVPN: Works with DAZN, TNT Sport, BeIN Sport, Netflix US, and more. Very easy to use, with a no-logs policy, and unbreakable encryption.
  4. PrivateVPN: A great all-rounder. Highly secure and private. Great for torrenting. Works with DAZN Canada. Allows 10 simultaneous connections.

What DAZN regions does my VPN work with?

I tested each VPN in eight different countries to find out which DAZN regions they worked with and which catalogs they could unblock. The results (at the time of testing) are listed below.

You must connect to a server in one of these countries to use your VPN with DAZN:

  1. NordVPN: USA, Canada, Italy, Spain, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Austria.
  2. Surfshark: Canada, Spain, Japan, Germany.
  3. ExpressVPN: USA, Canada, Italy, Spain, Japan, Germany.
  4. PrivateVPN: Canada.

Which VPNs don’t work with DAZN?

As mentioned above, most VPNs do not work with DAZN. To help you out, I have included a list of highly respected VPNs that work with many other streaming platforms but don’t currently don’t currently work with DAZN. Unfortunately, if you’re with one of the providers below, you’d be better off with one of the best VPNs for DAZN mentioned above.

  • CyberGhost
  • Hotspot Shield
  • IPVanish
  • AtlasVPN
  • Private Internet Access
  • VyprVPN
  • Tunnelbear
  • PureVPN
  • VPNArea

Bear in mind that the list above is not comprehensive. There are hundreds of VPNs on the market, and unless they are on my list of the best VPNs for DAZN, it is highly unlikely that they will work to watch DAZN abroad.

Can I use a free VPN to unblock DAZN?

No. Although there are plenty of free VPNs available on the market, they will not work to stream DAZN on vacation.

Free VPNs save costs by maintaining a small network of servers. This makes it easy for DAZN to spot and block them. Unfortunately, DAZN uses some of the most sophisticated VPN and proxy detection tools I’ve ever encountered. The result? Most premium VPNs and all the free VPNs I tested are blacklisted.

Free VPNs are also very slow. Having fewer servers and a large user base results in high levels of congestion. This causes slow speeds, which rules out using a free VPN for streaming, torrenting, gaming, video conferencing, and other data-intensive activities.

In addition to performance issues, it’s best to stay away from free VPNs for privacy and security reasons. There are hundreds of free VPNs circulating on Google Play and other app stores, but most of these are a threat to your privacy.

Free VPNs often have invasive policies that allow them to monitor everything you do online. They sell this data to third parties such as advertisers and data brokers. This means that using a free VPN could expose your data rather than giving you online privacy.

Free VPNs also often misrepresent the level of protection they provide. Studies have shown that they lack encryption, suffer from leaks, and have significant vulnerabilities. Some even hide spyware in their apps. This makes using most free VPNs extremely risky.

Can I watch boxing on DAZN with a VPN?

Boxing coverage on DAZN varies by country, but you can use a VPN to change your IP address, which makes you appear to be in a region where the fight has been licensed for broadcast. This can unlock additional fights and PPV cards.

By connecting to a US VPN server, you can obtain a valid US address, which will enable you to unlock content that isn’t available in other markets, such as Latin America or the UK.

This is perfect if a fight has been licensed to a competing network such as Sky Sports or TNT Sports. If you are a DAZN account holder, try switching your IP address to another location, and you should be able to log in and live stream the fight with your existing subscription.

DAZN not working with a VPN

What is the DAZN VPN policy?

DAZN’s VPN policy makes its position clear: the use of VPNs is prohibited. The official reasons include licensing agreements, fair usage, security, and streaming quality. Unfortunately, this fails to recognize that VPNs serve a legitimate privacy purpose and that continuously having to disconnect before watching DAZN every time means that sooner or later, you’re liable to forget and browse unprotected.

This is hardly the only realistic use case, either. Many paying subscribers rely on a VPN within their licensed region to unblock DAZN at work, on public Wi-Fi, or simply to avoid government censorship. These activities don’t breach broadcast rights, yet DAZN still blocks subscribers from logging in over a VPN.

Unfortunately, there are no laws that protect consumers’ rights to access their account on vacation or on restrictive networks. This seems unfair because paying subscribers ought to enjoy consumer protection rights that guarantee access under legitimate circumstances.

Paying customers should expect reasonable access not only anywhere within the licensed region but also on vacation. Simultaneously, preventing abuse, optimizing security, and enforcing licensing agreements are all legitimate motivations. However, blocking VPNs entirely risks punishing legitimate viewers.

Over time, I hope consumer protection and fair use rules will evolve to safeguard subscriber access. For now, streaming services can block VPNs to enforce geo‑blocks – leaving some legitimate subscribers unable to watch DAZN at work, on public wifi, or on other restricted networks.

The best solution? Stick to a recommended VPN that knows how to stay ahead of the DAZN VPN blocks.

Is it legal to use a VPN to watch DAZN?

It’s perfectly legal to use a VPN for streaming in most countries. You should note that this does go against DAZN’s terms of service, but that isn’t a crime — the worst that’s likely to happen is you’ll be asked to disconnect before watching anything.

Theoretically, DAZN could ban your account, but I’ve been testing VPNs professionally for nearly a decade and have never seen any streaming platform take this approach. After all, they cannot continue to operate without customers, and roughly one-third of the planet has used a VPN at least once.

Disclaimer: Although Comparitech has spent hours researching this topic, nothing above should be taken as legal advice. It’s important to consult local laws or perhaps even seek a professional’s opinion before attempting to use a VPN if you’re not completely sure that doing so is legal in your country.

Watching DAZN with a VPN: FAQs

Can I unblock DAZN at work or in school with a VPN?

Yes. The VPNs I’ve recommended offer fast speeds and reliable privacy features that conceal your internet use from local networks. This allows you not only to sidestep any restrictions placed on a school or work network, but also to do so without being monitored.

No matter which VPN you choose from this guide, they all offer a choice of AES-256 or ChaCha20 encryption. These are modern, future-proof protocols that completely hide your activities from local network administrators.

As a result, you can watch DAZN privately at work, in school, on a flight, or on any public wifi network where it has been restricted.

How does DAZN detect my location?

Streaming platforms such as DAZN primarily rely on users’ IP addresses to establish their location. If your IP address is from a region that isn’t allowed for the content, DAZN will block access or show an “unauthorized viewing” error.

You can change your IP address so that it looks like you’re in a country where DAZN operates. However, be aware that any existing cookies can indirectly give away your location by identifying your device as being the same one that previously tried to connect. Deleting cookies is easy enough, so this isn’t much of a problem once you’re aware of it.

If you’re using a mobile device, DAZN can (though it’ll need to ask your permission) use the device’s GPS or other location services to establish which country you’re connecting from. If this doesn’t match your IP address location, then you’ll be blocked.
