Is your copy of the Bob Unlimited Kodi addon not working? Are you unable to install it because it’s missing from NoobsandNerds repo? This article will explain why Bob Unlimited is not working, if it can be fixed, and whether there are alternatives.
What is Kodi?
Kodi is an open source software media player from the Kodi foundation. It allows users to integrate all of their video and audio sources into one platform. Kodi also blocks advertisements from some streaming sites. It can be installed on an Apple TV, Nvidia Shield, Android or iOS phone, PC, or Mac.
Warning: Kodi should only be used for content to which you have the legal right to access. Neither the Kodi Foundation nor Comparitech advocates the use of Kodi for piracy.
Why you should always use a VPN with Kodi
When people use third-party Kodi addons to view pirated content, they often turn to virtual private networks (VPNs) as a way to hide their activities from snooping ISPs. But all Kodi users should employ a VPN, including users who only watch videos from official sources.
If your ISP knows that you are streaming video, even if the video is completely legal, it may throttle your speed to prevent congestion on the network. Using a VPN helps to prevent this by not allowing the ISP to know what you are doing.
In addition, using a VPN prevents streaming video sites from knowing where you are located. This helps to protect you from price discrimination by content-creators. For example, it helps to prevent a movie studio from charging you a higher price because you are located in the U.S. instead of the U.K.
Not all VPNs are good for Kodi users though. Most don’t have apps that work with TV devices like the Amazon Fire Stick. Although all VPNs slow network speeds some, many are so slow that they make it impossible to watch high-def video without buffering. A lot of VPNs also keep logs of users’ streaming behaviour, creating an unnecessary privacy risk.
For these reasons, we recommend IPVanish for all Kodi users. IPVanish has an app for the Nvidia Shield, Amazon Fire TV, and Amazon Fire Stick. In our testing, we found that it was fast enough to stream 1080p video without buffering. It also has a strict “no-log” policy.
Why is Bob Unlimited not working?
Bob Unlimited used to be a very popular Kodi addon because of the wide variety of content it offered. However, in February 2018 it was removed from the Noobsandnerds repo that had previously housed it.
There are conflicting reports as to exactly why Bob Unlimited was removed. Some reports say that the developers at Noobsandnerds were visited at their homes and threatened with legal action. Others say that they were served with a lawsuit through the mail. But what is clear is that Noobsandnerds got into some kind of legal trouble because of the copyright-infringing links contained in Bob Unlimited. As a result, Bob Unlimited was removed from the repo and there are no more official copies. This is why Bob Unlimited no longer works.
Despite it being removed from the repo, there may still be copies of Bob Unlimited floating around on the Internet. However, installing one of these copies would be risky from a security and privacy standpoint, since they are not official copies and have not been vetted to make sure they are free of malware. There is no way to fix Bob Unlimited so that it will work correctly. We do not recommend trying to install Bob Unlimited.
Instead, we recommend installing one of the alternative Kodi addons listed below. All of these addons stream from official sources and work just fine as of this writing.
Best alternative to Bob Unlimited: Tubi TV
Most users who attempt to install Bob Unlimited are looking for free movies and TV, and the best Kodi addon for this purpose is Tubi TV. It has over 50,000 titles and is one of the largest collections of English-language streaming-video content in the world.
It carries Sundance films, dramas, anime, crime TV, classics, Family movies, indie films, sci-fi & fantasy, thrillers, and many other genres of film and television.

Other alternatives to Bob Unlimited
Crackle is another great choice for free movies and TV. While it has a smaller collection than Tubi TV, it does carry many highly-rated and popular titles.
