The Not Sure Kodi addon has become a popular way for Kodi users to watch free movies and TV shows. But is the Not Sure Kodi addon legal? And is it safe to install on your device?
In this article, we’ll explain what the Not Sure Kodi addon is and what risks you may be taking by installing it. We’ll also provide some alternative Kodi addons you can use to see free movies and shows if you don’t want to take these risks.
What is Kodi?
Kodi is an open-source media player for Amazon Fire Stick, Nvidia Shield, Apple TV, PC, Mac, Android, and iOS devices. It allows users to play videos stored on their devices or streamed from the Internet. Kodi has become very popular as a way to block advertisements from streaming video sites, giving users interruption-free access to a huge catalog of movies and shows.
Warning: Kodi should only be used for content to which you have the legal right to access. Neither the Kodi Foundation nor Comparitech advocates the use of Kodi for piracy.
Always use a VPN with Kodi
When using Kodi to stream video online, you should always use a VPN to protect your privacy and security. Internet service providers will sometimes slow the speeds of users they know are streaming video. They do this to conserve bandwidth, but this often causes users’ videos to buffer. A VPN can help with this problem. It will encrypt your data, preventing your ISP from knowing that you are streaming video.
A VPN will also allow you to choose an IP address from a country other than the one you are located in. This will allow you to see content that you would otherwise be blocked from viewing, such as foreign TV shows and movies.
Not all VPNs are good for Kodi users. Most don’t have apps for popular TV devices like the Amazon Fire Stick. Many don’t have servers in enough countries to suit the needs of video streamers. Some keep logs of users’ activity, creating new privacy risks.
For these reasons, we recommend IPVanish for Kodi users. It has an app for Amazon Fire Stick and Nvidia Shield, has servers in over 60 countries, and keeps no logs. It’s a great way for Kodi users to protect their privacy while streaming.
What is Not Sure Kodi addon?
Not Sure is a popular Kodi addon that streams content from many different websites. Not Sure has become popular because it provides access to newer movies that are still in, or just came out of, theaters. It also provides access to premium UK live sports channels, children’s shows, radio stations, and other content.
Problems with Not Sure Kodi addon
Despite this robust catalog, there are some problems with Not Sure Kodi addon. The first problem is that almost all of the content provided by Not Sure is from unofficial sources. In other words, it’s copyright-infringing. If you are looking for legal videos to watch through Kodi, you aren’t going to find very many of them using Not Sure.
The second problem with Not Sure is that it carries many risks to the privacy and security of users. Not Sure was originally found in a relatively unknown Kodi repo called FireTVGuru. This repo is maintained by an anonymous developer who is only known by his twitter handle. Because of the developer’s anonymity, users would have no legal recourse if Fire TV Guru were to use his addon to install adware or other malicious code on users’ computers.
Although no one has yet found such code in this addon, it’s possible that it could be added in the future through an update, without users being aware of it. We think Kodi users should be aware of this risk.
But there is an even more significant problem with Not Sure Kodi addon: it is no longer available even from FireTVGuru repo. This means that no official copies of Not Sure exist. As a result, the only way to get a copy is to try to find it on a peer-to-peer file-sharing network. This is even riskier than getting it from the developer, since it requires you to trust both the developer and whatever random person is offering you the file.
Because it streams pirated content and carries significant security and privacy risks, we do not recommend installing or using Not Sure Kodi addon. Instead, we recommend the perfectly legal and relatively safe addons listed below.

Best alternative to Not Sure Kodi addon: Tubi TV
The best alternative to Not Sure is the Tubi TV Kodi addon. This addon streams from TubiTV.com, a legal streaming video site that has a catalog of over 50,000 titles. Tubi TV carries popular action movies, dramas, kids shows, anime, and many other genres of television and film. Best of all, the Kodi addon blocks all of Tubi TV’s commercials, allowing you to watch without interruption.
There are several different versions of Tubi TV’s catalog. These include a US, UK, Canadian, and “international” version. Each of these versions is geoblocked against users from outside of the particular country it is intended for. So a VPN is needed if you want access all of the site’s titles.
