The 13th season of The Curse of Oak Island officially begins on November 4. There’ll be a new episode every Tuesday night at 21:00 ET (18:00 PT), with 25 episodes in total. Below, we’ll explain how to stream season 13 of The Curse of Oak Island live and on-demand, no matter where you are in the world. Not quite caught up just yet? No problem: we’ll also explain how to stream older seasons of The Curse of Oak Island online.
Note that this post will only recommend official sources. Although it may be possible to watch The Curse of Oak Island on third-party websites, these streams are usually unreliable, low-quality, and prone to being taken down at a moment’s notice. On the plus side, there are plenty of ways to watch The Curse of Oak Island season 13 online, so there’s no need to resort to shady streaming sites.
The Curse of Oak Island season 13 will only be broadcast on region-locked streaming services. This means that if you’re traveling abroad and looking to watch on your usual platforms, you’ll have to use a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
How to stream The Curse of Oak Island abroad with a VPN
Here’s the good news: it’s really quite simple to access geo-restricted shows like The Curse of Oak Island from abroad with the right VPN. Just follow the steps below.
Here’s how to watch The Curse of Oak Island Season 13 online from anywhere:
- First, sign up for a suitable VPN provider. We recommend ExpressVPN although NordVPN and Surfshark are two high-quality, low-cost alternatives.
- Next, download the VPN app, taking care to install it on any device you’d like to stream on. Most permit at least five simultaneous connections, though every VPN has a different limit.
- Log in and connect to a server in your desired location. For example, you’ll need an American server to access the US version of History Channel, or an Australian server to unblock SBS.
- Finally, try playing a video. You should find that it loads right away, with no issues. If not, clear your cookies. Still having trouble? You might want to try a different server or get in touch with your VPN’s support team for further assistance.
The Curse of Oak Island will be shown live, which is why we strongly recommend spending a few minutes making sure everything works as expected ahead of the premiere. This ensures you won’t miss the show due to last-minute technical problems. Remember: most major VPN providers offer 24/7 support to help with any issues you might encounter.
How to watch The Curse of Oak Island on US TV
Just like always, the new series of The Curse of Oak Island will premiere on History Channel. At the time of writing, this service has all 12 prior seasons of this show, with most episodes available to watch for free (though you will have to sign in if you’d like to watch additional content, such as the “Top 10 Treasure Theories” video.
You could also purchase season 1–11 individually on Amazon Prime Video, but this would be expensive and effectively pointless given that it’s available for less elsewhere.
It’s not clear yet whether season 13 will also be free to watch. If not, you’ll have to log into the History Channel website with your cable provider details. Alternatively, you can sign in using a Philo, Hulu, Sling TV, or DirecTV account. Hulu is the cheapest of these, and so is the best option for long-term viewing.
All of the services mentioned above are geo-restricted, so you’ll need a VPN to access them outside of the US. Don’t have a VPN yet? ExpressVPN comes with a risk-free 30-day money-back guarantee; if you’re not blown away by it after trying it out, just cancel to receive a full refund, no questions asked.
Where else can I watch The Curse of Oak Island online?
The mysteries surrounding this tiny island off the coast of Nova Scotia have intrigued people from all over the world. Accordingly, The Curse of Oak Island is broadcast in several countries. Take a look below to find out which network is showing it where you are:
UK
It’s fairly easy to watch recent seasons of The Curse of Oak Island in the UK. The tenth, eleventh, and twelfth seasons are all available on Now TV, and it’s likely that season 13 will be added shortly after it begins airing. This streaming service costs £9.99 per month and also lets you watch The Curse of Oak Island: Drilling Down and Tales from Oak Island.
If you’d like to watch older seasons, your only option is to purchase them individually on platforms like Amazon Prime Video. At the time of writing, these cost £2.49 per episode for HD video or £1.89 for SD.
These streaming apps are geo-blocked, so you’ll need a VPN to access them from outside of the UK.
Canada
Watching this show in Canada is a little bit trickier, unfortunately. Previously, it was available in its entirety on the History Channel but that’s no longer the case. Instead, you can stream season 12 on Global TV so long as you can sign in with your cable provider details. Alternatively, the first seven seasons are available on Crave TV, which costs $11.99 CAD per month.
Currently, the only way to watch seasons eight through 11 is to purchase them on VOD platforms like Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV.
Alternatively, you will also be able to watch the shows on FuboTV Canada, although this will cost you. If you’d prefer to watch it live, you’ll have to sign in with your cable provider details, since no over-the-top services are supported.
History Channel Canada is geo-restricted. That said, it’s still possible to access it while traveling abroad if you connect to a Canadian VPN server.
Australia
Australian fans are getting a raw deal when it comes to streaming The Curse of Oak Island. This show used to be available on Netflix Australia but the rights recently expired.
The 10th and 11th seasons are available for free on SBS but we still don’t know when (or if) season 12 will be available, never mind season 13. Season 11 and various special episodes are also available on Binge, but this costs $10 AUD per month.
SBS and Binge are only accessible from within Australia. As such, you’ll need a VPN to watch The Curse of Oak Island on these platforms if you’re currently abroad.
What should we expect from season 13 of The Curse of Oak Island?
We don’t know much about the thirteenth season of The Curse of Oak Island though checking out the descriptions of early episodes reveals that the team will be spending a lot of time checking out the Money Pit and Swamp areas.
Can I use a free VPN to watch The Curse of Oak Island?
No. Although free VPNs are available on the market these are not a good option for streaming. Free VPNs are very slow and they are easy for streaming providers to block. This is because free VPNs only have a few servers that can too easily be identified and blacklisted.
Reliable paid VPNs are caught in a constant game of cat and mouse with streaming providers. The streaming services try to block the IPs associated with VPNs, but the best VPNs keep switching up their servers and finding ways to keep providing access for their users.
Providing access to popular streaming services, whether it be the History Channel, Fubo TV, Hulu, Netflix – or any other platform -takes resources, time, expertise, and money. Unfortunately, free VPNs don’t have the capacity to stay ahead of these blocks.
Risky to use
In addition to being slow and unable to unblock popular streaming platforms, free VPNs have also been found to be useless for privacy purposes. Studies have revealed that they lack encryption, have invasive privacy policies, and suffer from leaks and other vulnerabilities. This makes using free VPNs a risk to your data privacy and the safety of your devices.
