Finding the best VPNs for a Polish IP: Our methodology

Picking a VPN that is secure, reliable, fast, and can provide you with a Polish IP address isn’t particularly straightforward — particularly when you have to base decisions on marketing fluff. To give you a helping hand we objectively test providers in the following important areas:

Network suitability

A good quality VPN will provide you with unprecedented levels of online freedom. It does this by offering access to servers dotted around the globe. With this in mind, we scored VPNs on the number of countries they supported. To get you the best options for a Polish IP address, we also scored providers on the number of server locations they had in Poland. Finally, we scored them on their ability to access geo-restricted content — both in Poland and elsewhere. 

These scores were weighted based on their relative importance, before being combined to generate scores out of 10 for comparison.

Security and privacy

We looked under the hood when testing VPNs to check that they live up to their claims. First, we tested for IP, DNS, and WebRTC leaks. Next, we checked the VPN protocols to be sure they provided robust encryption levels and other important security features, such as Perfect Forward Secrecy. We know it’s tempting to try and get a Polish IP address with a free VPN, however, you’re unlikely to find many free VPNs with servers in Poland. Even if you’re lucky enough to find one, we’d advise against it for several reasons. The primary reason not to use free VPNs is that they lack fundamental security like basic encryption, DNS leak protection, or a kill switch, they can compromise your online privacy.

Also, they rarely have no-logs policies, in fact, some free VPNs log your data and sell it to third parties.
