Our Methodology: Choosing the best VPNs for streaming Twilight

As you’re likely already aware, you can’t use just any VPN to stream Twilight. After all, many simply won’t work with Netflix. Additionally, some lack the speed (or consistency) required for 4K streaming. To help us identify the best services for the job, we tested providers in the following areas.

Streaming ability

Twilight is only available in certain countries’ Netflix libraries, and without servers in these locations, you won’t be able to watch. As such, we scored providers on the number of countries they supported. All of the VPNs in our list have servers in the US, Australia, Germany, and South Korea. At the time of writing, these provide access to Netflix libraries containing Twilight.

Of course, just because a VPN has servers in a particular country, it doesn’t guarantee that it’ll work with Netflix. We tested each VPN with a range of Netflix libraries to find out which they worked with. We also scored providers on their compatibility with other popular streaming platforms. These included Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, BBC iPlayer, and Hulu.

The above scores were combined to generate an overall score out of 10 for comparison.

Speed

Streaming is a fairly data-intensive task, so speed is a top priority. To find out which providers were fastest, we carried out speed tests while connected to their servers in South Korea.

To better replicate the experience of the average user, we rate-limited our test machine to 250 Mbps (which is roughly the median fixed broadband speed in the US). Measurements were taken using the desktop version of the Ookla speed-testing app (which provides better accuracy). The results for each provider were averaged and then converted to a score out of 10 relative to the other tested VPNs.

NordVPN was the fastest VPN overall, though Surfshark wasn’t too far behind. IPVanish, with a score of 8.3 out of 10, came third. All three VPNs were notably quick. This makes them good choices for streaming Twilight without lag or buffering.
